Here is a link to a guy named Mike Church that will certainly make you think. You must possess critical thinking skills so it may be difficult at first. The Bill of Rights is directed towards the Federal Government and NOT towards the States to “prevent the abuse of its powers”!
The preamble to the Bill of Rights states:
“The conventions of a number of the States having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added.”
Knowing full well the Evils of an all-powerful National government (England) and if the Founding Fathers were trying to hold together this newly formed Federal Government, why in the world would the States who fought the British for these freedoms, turn around and give any regulatory power to someone other than themselves?
