Last Friday night we met our friends at another local University of Central Florida student favorite the Lazy Moon Pizza. We took our resident college student along as the preverbal guide. If college students love pizza then what better way to improve on that then serving up giant slices (20″ & 30″ pies) of this higher education staple?
What’s more, in order to gain the full experience, we arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night. Apparently the students must have worked up an appetite by studying extra hard that day because the place was absolutely packed. By the time we left people were lined out the door.
I have to say that the food was really good. Everyone except me ordered a slice of pizza, which is a meal by itself. The Hawaiian Pork Melt caught my attention on the menu. When I asked the girl at the register about it, she had me at “we marinate our mojo pork for a minimum of 8 hours”. It was exceptional. Think of a traditional Hawaiian pizza and pulled pork stuffed into a calzone. They knocked it out of the park in my book. I’m sure that there will be many more visits to this “giant” pizza establishment in my future.
